Are You A Next Generation Leader?

You are invited to attend a fun and informative morning with the Next Generation Leadership Group, a new network of high-performing, young professionals like you, who work for an association, professional society, or charitable organization in and around New York City. The Next Generation Leadership Group will provide ongoing exposure, access, value and relevance for future decision makers within the association and not for profit communities.

The Next Generation Leadership Group is a new, volunteer-run initiative of the New York Society of Association Executives (NYSAE). Next Generation is part of NYSAE’s larger plan to create a culture that is welcoming to young professionals. Next Generation will serve as a gathering place for emerging leaders in the metro New York association and nonprofit communities to convene and engage in interactive discussion with like-minded peers. Next Generation participants will enjoy mentoring programs with senior leaders, meeting with other dynamic young professionals, building networks, learning from each other, testing new ideas, and receiving feedback.

The Next Generation Leadership Group is for young professionals currently working full-time as executives, program managers, communications specialists, education coordinators, meeting planners, or other management and administrative roles within an association or nonprofit. The forum will feature experienced facilitators, inspiring speakers, mentors and relevant topics designed to help the next generation build their personal skill set to become the executives and decision makers of tomorrow.

What to expect: After breakfast and networking, NYSAE’s Chairman, Michael Weamer, President & CEO of the Marfan Foundation and former Executive Vice President of the American Heart Association's Founders affiliate, will welcome attendees. NYSAE Board liaisons will introduce the launch and mission of the Next Generation Leadership Group, followed by a facilitated and interactive discussion. At this first meeting we’ll spend time learning from each other, sharing innovative ideas, and hearing about your experiences what you’re achieving in your important work every day. Attendees will decide on future program agendas. We’ll also be seeking out steering committee volunteers.

Registration: There is no fee to attend. Please RSVP with your name, title, organization, phone and email by Tuesday, September 8 to hkoenig@kellencompany.com. You will receive a confirmation email, and a list of confirmed attendees will be distributed in advance. No walk-ins, please.

Eligibility to attend: The Next Generation Leadership Group is open to young professionals (35 years of age and younger) who work in any capacity at a professional society, trade association or other nonprofit. Participation is always free. Guests are welcome and invited to attend two (two) events before we invite you to join NYSAE for a special rate of $75 for the year.
